Beaches

Hey kiddies,

Just a short post today, I'm not feeling particularly motivated to spend a whole hell of a lot of time with this.  We took the girls, as well as their neighborhood friend, Sophie, out to Stratford Park (pretty sure that's the name of it) today in order to swim and hit up the 'beach' for a couple hours.  The weather was gorgeous, so it was kinda mandatory.

Check it out. . .

Their were seagulls EVERYWHERE today.  Must have been a beached whale nearby or something. . .
Alayna was obsessed with collecting 'shells' today.  Of course, seeing how it's a landlocked lake in Michigan, these shells are a far cry from the bleached white sea shells she used to collect on the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf and Atlantic coasts.  Nay, these were snail shells, and she often had to pull the snails out of the shell first before placing them in her bucket.  Like all animal lovers do.
Abby gives us an earful about something going on in the water.  We tune out a lot when she's prattling on.
On the prowl for more shells. . .
Taking a break from swimming (I stay on shore during these outings, as I'll be damned if I swim in some gross-ass lake.)
Not a bad watering hole, but it sure as hell ain't Anna Maria Island or Cocoa Beach. . .
